Abstract
- This paper investigates the impact of corrosion on the magnetic circuit's influence on the induction machine's magnetic characteristics. To achieve this objective, we initially evaluated the magnetic properties of the induction machine's magnetic circuit under both corroded and non-corroded conditions by analyzing hysteresis loops using a vibrating sample magnetometer. We systematically examined magnetic parameters extracted from these experiments, including saturation magnetic flux density, coercive field, remanence, and the squareness ratio. Subsequently, we employed the finite element method to scrutinize the magnetic behavior of the induction machine under both corroded and non-corroded conditions. The magnetic parameters obtained from the experiments were then incorporated into the model representing the induction machine's magnetic circuit. The results demonstrate that corrosion in the magnetic circuit significantly impacts the induction machine's magnetic behavior, ultimately leading to reduced machine efficiency.
