Abstract

The author rethinks her cultural communication style as a speech language pathologist (SLP) to adapt as a professional in the health care setting. She tells about her experience of imposter syndrome during a cognitive communication therapy for an female older patient. She suggests an introspective, direct kind of conversation with her supervisor that would have allowed them to learn about each other's communication styles from the perspectives of patient care and culture.
