Abstract

This document is a letter published in the journal Lupus. It discusses the importance of screening for antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) in women who have experienced early-onset fetal growth restriction (FGR) during pregnancy. The study found that APS screening is often not discussed during follow-up visits, despite the potential benefits of treatment with low-molecular-weight-heparin and aspirin in subsequent pregnancies. The study also calculated the incidence of APS among women who were screened and found a prevalence of 7.4%. The authors suggest that implementing standardized protocols for APS diagnostics postpartum could improve screening rates and subsequent pregnancy outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
