Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical application effect of the small incision combined with 2% iodine tincture injection treating of facial sebaceous cysts. Methods Seventy-nine patients with facial sebaceous cyst were randomly divided into an observation group (n=41) and a control group (n=38) using a number table method. The observation group was treated with a small incision combined with 2% iodine tincture injection. The control group was treated with total cystectomy through a straight incision. Observe the duration of surgery for both groups of patients. Follow up for 6 months after surgery to observe the local recurrence of sebaceous cyst, and score the postoperative scars using the vancouver scar scale (VSS) . Conduct a patient satisfaction survey. Results No local recurrence occurred in 79 cases. The observation group had a surgical duration of (10.14±2.23) min, while the control group had a surgical duration of (15.78± 4.66) min. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . The VSS score of the observation group was 0.44±0.50, while the VSS score of the control group was 1.71±1.95, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) . The satisfaction rate of the observation group was 100%, while the satisfaction rate of the control group was 97.37%. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. The comparison of the composition ratio of satisfaction between the two groups shows that the observation group had a higher proportion of "very satisfied", and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . Conclusion The combination of the small incision and 2% iodine tincture injection for treating facial sebaceous cysts has the advantages of simplicity, safety, and a small scar. At the same time, the treatment of the cyst wall with 2% iodine tincture injection can also avoid recurrence [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
