Abstract

This article discusses the issue of media access to locker rooms in sports leagues, particularly the National Football League (NFL). The NFL players union is working with the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) to adjust media access policies so that players can be interviewed in more public settings, as they do not want to be interviewed when they are naked. The article also mentions the recent Olympics in Paris, where a Brazilian skateboarder used her platform to declare her faith in Jesus, despite an Olympic ban on religious demonstrations. The article concludes by mentioning that locker rooms are often the venues for pregame and postgame interviews in high-profile sports leagues in America, and teams must provide female journalists access to spaces populated by men in various states of undress due to public accommodation laws. The NFL currently requires teams to provide privacy measures for players during media interviews, but it is unclear if they will change their media policy. [Extracted from the article]
