Abstract
- For this first issue of 2024, the editors felt that circumstances called for an article to celebrate a number of events. Pain and Analgesia is the leading French-language journal for clinicians and researchers working in the field of pain. It is the official organ of the French Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain and is also an affiliate of the Swiss and Belgian societies. On the Canadian side, we are delighted to have the support of our Quebec colleagues, who have been an enrichment to our editorial team with the dynamism of their research. We are therefore delighted to welcome John Libbey Eurotext as the new publisher of the journal. This will enable us to continue to develop the journal and offer readers new content. This new edition of the journal now includes a quarterly press review. The first issue of the year is longer than usual as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the IASP (International Association for the Study of Pain) and some of the French-speaking personalities who have contributed to its development. You'll therefore find a few tributes to start with, before going on to look at the Press Review. The press review will take stock of the articles that have been most frequently quoted over the last 50 years. We will then look at 5 major articles from 2023, before presenting the first 'nuggets' from the first quarter of 2024. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
