Abstract

A 68-year-old man experienced lack of efficacy and acute gastric mucosal necrosis while being treated with teduglutide for short bowel syndrome (SBS) and renal dysfunction. Despite treatment, his nutritional status, oral intake, and stoma discharge did not improve. He also developed visceral dysfunction and his general condition deteriorated. Additionally, he experienced haematemesis and gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed extensive gastric mucosal necrosis. He passed away due to septic shock. [Extracted from the article]
