Abstract

Two case reports are presented in this article, highlighting the lack of efficacy of certain drugs in the treatment of hyperkalaemia and rhabdomyolysis. In the first case, a 4-year-old boy with influenza A infection experienced ventricular tachycardia and hyperkalaemia despite receiving bicarbonate, salbutamol, insulin, and glucose. He also did not respond to sodium chloride, albumin-human, and plasma infusions. However, his condition eventually improved after receiving continuous veno-venous hemodiafiltration and other interventions. In the second case, an 11-month-old boy with motor development delay did not respond to sodium chloride for rhabdomyolysis and required continuous veno-venous hemodiafiltration. Although he was initially discharged, he later experienced a recurrence of rhabdomyolysis and died after unsuccessful cardiopulmonary resuscitation. [Extracted from the article]
