Abstract
- The article recommends animal-free and plant-forward dietary patterns for better health. Common terms used in plant-based dietary pattern include flexitarian, pescetarian, vegetarian and vegan. Several ideas to increase intake of plant foods include eating beans and lentils in place of animal protein, making swaps to increase fruit and vegetable intake, trying different whole grains, cooking with tofu, and switching from butter and other animal fats to non-tropical plant-based oils.
