Abstract

Major shifts are occurring in higher education since the inception of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT. With AI's growing integration into academia, understanding its usage and impact is imperative. We reviewed literature on ChatGPT use in medical education and identified two 'use cases' as: (1) an interactive dialogue tool to enrich student learning, and (2) a content generation tool to assist educators in course content creation. Literature also reported concerns around information accuracy, academic integrity, and potential bias. We call for more research to inform the development of pedagogical activities using ChatGPT, and to examine its impact and the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
