Abstract
- This article presents a case report of a 33-year-old man with a history of atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis who developed erythematous and squamous lesions on the eyelids of his right eye, along with conjunctivitis. Initially, bacterial conjunctivitis was suspected and treated, but the lesions persisted. Patch tests were performed, but all were negative. Repeated open application tests (ROAT) were conducted, and it was found that the patient had a positive reaction to the ingredient retinyl palmitate in a cream called ILAST CARE®. The article discusses the importance of properly explaining the ROAT procedure to patients and provides information on retinyl palmitate as a rare contact allergen. [Extracted from the article]
