Abstract

This article proposes a new model for national skin audit and data submission in the field of dermatology. The traditional method of manually entering data points retrospectively is inefficient and time-consuming. The article suggests the adoption of standardized templates and proforma systems for real-time documentation of clinical recommendations and patient data. The use of a rule-based natural language processing technique is also proposed to extract and analyze data in real-time. The article highlights the challenges and limitations in data collection and analysis and emphasizes the need for continued innovation and collaboration in this area. The proposed model aims to provide near real-time, precise analysis of treatment outcomes and contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of influencing factors. However, there are scalability barriers that need to be addressed. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of measurement and improvement in skin cancer audit and data submission and the need for benchmarking in dermatology and plastic surgery.
