Abstract

Underground cable faults can lead to human loss and energy loss, which can have significant consequences. Human loss can occur if the fault causes an electrical fire, explosion, or other hazards. Such incidents can result in injuries or fatalities to workers or members of the public who are in the vicinity of the fault. Energy loss is another significant consequence of underground cable faults. Faults can cause a disruption in the power supply, resulting in power outages that can affect homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. Energy loss can also result in financial losses for power companies, we hereby put an end to this problem by proposing a pic microcontroller based underground cable fault detector by using PIC16F877A and AWS cloud to detect the fault and sending formation to authorized power. after detecting the faults, it will be displayed in the lcd where the fault has occurred and alert by buzzer. The proposed system provides a low-cost and efficient solution for detecting and locating underground cable faults, allowing for prompt repairs and improved reliability of electrical systems.
