This research aims to explore "Two Sides of the Coin That Must Be Considered on the Journey to Sustainable Development" using a qualitative approach through literature study. The research method used for analysis is content from various written sources such as scientific journals, international organization reports, and other related documents. The research results reveal that to achieve balanced sustainable development, a balance is needed between economic growth, environmental protection and social justice simultaneously. The concept of a green economy, circular economy, as well as mitigation and adaptation efforts to climate change are promising approaches to realizing this balance.
