Abstract

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss. Although the exact cause of this condition is not fully understood, it is known to involve excessive amounts of dihydrotestosterone. There are various treatment options available for androgenetic alopecia that aim to target these mechanisms. The FDA-approved therapies for this condition include topical minoxidil, oral finasteride, and low-level light therapy. This review will discuss the potential benefits of using spironolactone, dutasteride, and bicalutamide as alternative treatment options for androgenetic alopecia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
