Comparison of the results of conservative and realistic approaches to the analysis of radioactive release for LOCA of pressurized water VVER–440 and 1000 NPPs.

This paper presents the results of the assessment of the radiological consequences of LOCA at DBA and DEC-A for NPPs with VVER-440 and 1000 reactors using approaches that contribute to a realistic assessment of the radionuclide sources, taking into account the thermomechanical criterion of the gas gap activity release and the process of their transfer from the primary circuit to the environment.
