Abstract

A novel composite, CoFe-LDH/ZIF-67 is designed and fabricated via an easy approach in two steps and its identification was followed by various analyses such as FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, BET and STA. The CoFe-LDH/ZIF-67 was constructed by the growth of ZIF-67 on CoFe-LDH surface. The composite CoFe-LDH/ZIF-67 powerfully catalyzed the formation of dihydropyrimidinone derivatives via the Biginelli reaction in the absence of solvent. CoFe-LDH/ZIF-67 has significant catalytic activity, which was predominantly accredited to the great surface area and the synergy of CoFe-LDH and ZIF-67. Furthermore, LDH/ZIF-67 has revealed recyclability for five runs with a slight decrease in the yield. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
