Abstract

This article presents two case reports involving a 40-year-old woman and a neonate who experienced lack of efficacy during treatment with methylthioninium-chloride and ascorbic-acid for acquired methemoglobinemia. The woman received these medications, along with sodium-chloride and magnesium-sulfate, during the third trimester of pregnancy. The woman recovered and was discharged without any complications, but unfortunately, the neonate's condition continued to deteriorate and ultimately resulted in death. This suggests that the medications were not effective in treating the neonate's condition. [Extracted from the article]
