Application of gravity data GGMPLUS for identification of geological fault in the Bittuang geothermal prospect area, Tana Toraja.

Abstract
- According to geological and geochemical assessments, the Bittuang area possesses geothermal potential, which is suggested by the presence of geothermal surface manifestations such as hot springs, warm ground, and fumarole. Therefore, this study using the gravity method was carried out with the aim of proving the existence of a subsurface fault structure along the manifestation. The gravity data used in this study is secondary data from the Gravity Model Plus (GGMplus) satellite data obtained from the GGMplus satellite data in the form of gravity disturbance with 200-meter resolution. This data is used to create the Complete Bouguer Anomaly (CBA) map, regional map, and residual map. To analyze the presence of the fault structure, six cross-section line which crosses the Fault structure according to the geological map is drawn over the residual map. To make validate each crossing point in this study uses the First Horizontal Derivative (FHD) is used to show the edge of a discontinuity plane in the form of a geological structure boundary that causes an anomaly and the Second Vertical Derivative (SVD) analyses determine the presence of the fault structure boundary along with the hanging-wall and foot-wall of the plane of the fault structure. The results of this gravity research and the remaining anomaly data were used to digitally transform the SVD analysis on six tracks. The six digitized paths identified several correlated fault structures based on geological data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
