Abstract

The average difference between hot and cold heat carrier temperatures, the amount of transferred heat, and the hydraulic resistance for a patented plate heat exchanger having plates with drop-shaped relief and for a heat exchanger having typical corrugated plates were calculated using a computational hydrodynamic module built into the software for 3‑D modeling. It was found that less energy is consumed in the patented heat exchanger for pumping heat carriers with the same amount of transferred heat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
