Abstract

This article discusses a study on the effectiveness of the counterpressure technique with a birth ball in managing labor pain and influencing labor progression. The study found that while the technique did not significantly reduce pain levels or influence uterine contractions, it did lead to a significant increase in cervical dilation compared to the control group. The study suggests that the counterpressure technique may facilitate labor progression by impacting cervical dilation. However, further research is needed to better understand the mechanisms behind this effect and optimize its use in clinical practice. The article also provides information about the study's organization and implementation, including the authors' contributions and references to related research on non-pharmacological pain relief methods during labor.
