Abstract

A recent discovery by researchers at Radboud University in the Netherlands has shed light on the mysterious nature of gamma ray bursts (GRBs), the most powerful explosions in the universe. The researchers found that a particular GRB, known as GRB221009A, contained an energetic peak at about 10 megaelectronvolts, which suggests the involvement of matter and antimatter annihilating. This finding challenges current models of GRBs and provides insight into the composition of these cosmic explosions. The discovery of this distinctive line in the spectrum of a GRB is considered a significant surprise in the field of astrophysics. [Extracted from the article]
