Abstract
- The School in Hospital represents a structured intervention aimed at ensuring the right to education for all students who, due to specific health conditions, are unable to attend the school. This contribution seeks to foster a critical reflection on the School in Hospital service in Italy and the effectiveness of the care action in a biopsychosocial context. It is realized as an outcome of collaborative work among various professionals engaged in the helping relationship within hospital educational settings. The specific synergistic and trans-disciplinary approach, aimed to contributing to the overcoming of the fragility experienced by young patients due to their vulnerable condition, allows considering School in Hospital as a significant educational opportunity. Starting from theoretical reflections emerging from a research experience in Sicilian hospital schools, this contribution aims to underscore the value of the multidisciplinary intervention in promoting the learning process and enhancing the well-being of hospitalized students.
