Abstract
- The existence of the Manpower Law is one of the government's ways to reduce labor problems, for example problems in wages. Minimum Wage and Overtime Wage, namely basic wages and fixed allowances, are still a dispute in wages because the Indonesian people consider that the calculation of wages is not appropriate and then added with termination of employment which temporarily makes anxiety in the minds of labor workers by adding to the Covid-19 pandemic period which makes the lack of respect for work from labor workers. The purpose of this research is to provide valuable insights to public policymakers about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on labor workers and related layoff issues. One of the benefits of the study is to help identify areas where labor workers are vulnerable to layoffs. This research uses legal research with a doctrinal approach that is normative, or normative juridical legal research or normative legal research. The results of labor protection research consist of economic, social, and technical protection. Economic protection includes sufficient income, including when the workforce is unable to work. Social protection involves health care and freedom of association. Technical protection relates to occupational security and safety. Termination of Employment (PHK) is regulated by Law Number 13 of 2003 and refers to the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, where companies are urged to take steps such as reducing wages or laying off workers.
