Abstract
- The Region of Murcia has a broad and well-distributed educational structure. However, the information published to this end in the main national and regional statistical portals is archaic and has not been updated during the last five years. This fact urgently demands a revision and modernisation of the data from the educational centres. Against this background, this paper aims to provide a report on the current state of the educational structure of the Region of Murcia, providing a more detailed view including the organisation of educational centres in different categories and their cartographic representation. Similarly, the characteristics, educational levels, and services offered by each centre are analysed, with the aim of estimating whether the ranking of affinity and recommendation of the best educational centres in the Region of Murcia produced by the "Micole" portal is representative or, on the contrary, data were collected subjectively and therefore they do not correspond to the services offered by each centre. The results obtained show that during the period of time in which no academic data have been published, the Region of Murcia has considerably increased the number of educational centres (71). Most of these are state-funded and provide General Regime education. As for the veracity of the "Micole" survey, it can be established that the centres analysed in this portal show better characteristics and services than other schools in the Region of Murcia.
