Abstract
- The article reviews the current challenges and advancements in diagnosing acute kidney injury (AKI) in neonates during the first week of life, highlighting the limitations of existing definitions and the need for improved biomarkers. It also discusses recent studies on the efficacy of serum creatinine decline as a marker for early AKI detection, the comparison between Gupta et al.'s and KDIGO criteria, and the necessity for a more precise and practical approach to assess kidney function.
