Abstract

[Objective] To study the effects of different soil conditioners on the yield and quality of edamame in coastal saline-alkali soil. [Method] Five different conditioners were applied to the coastal saline-alkali land in Hangzhou Bay, Cixi, Ningbo. They were calcium ion exchange agents (T1), microbial algal fertilizer (T2), microbial fertilizer (T3), biochemical fulvic acid (T4), and mineral source potassium fulvic acid (T5). The effects of different treatments on the yield and quality of edamame were tracked and investigated. [Result] T, treatment significantly increased the yield of edamame in coastal saline-alkali soil, with 9 732. 4 kg/hm², a yield increase of 71.96 % over CK. The next two were T4 and T5, with significant differences in yield. Applying soil conditioner could increase the content of ascorbic acid and starch in edamame, but had no significant effect on the content of amino acids and crude protein. T, treatment and T, treatment significantly increased the ascorbic acid content of edamame, reaching 13. 55 and 11.69 µg/g. T3 treatment and T2 treatment significantly increased the starch content of edamame, reaching 26. 79 and 22. 11 mg/g respectively. [Conclusion] Applying soil conditioner can significantly increase the yield and improve the quality of edamame in coastal saline-alkali soil, which can provide certain guidance for improving the coastal saline-alkali soil to some extent.
