Abstract

This article highlights several ambitious community revitalization projects around the world. One project is the transformation of a century-old flour mill in the Czech Republic into a cultural and educational complex, preserving the original surfaces while incorporating modern design elements. Another project is a colorful kindergarten in China designed to nurture creativity and joy, featuring a skylit central atrium and vibrant laminated-glass elements. In Detroit, a former bakery and warehouse has been converted into a mixed-use arts hub with gallery spaces and workshops, utilizing round windows to offer a view of the activity within. Additionally, the article showcases a zero-carbon government campus in California and an upgraded train station in Australia that incorporates landscaping and a colorful facade inspired by Indigenous traditions.
