A calculation method for optimizing the LCOE and the cost of subsequent PTX production from wind power is presented, based on Weibull parameters and cost functions. The PTX products methanol, ammonia and synthetic diesel are considered, as well as hydrogen, which is converted into an easily transportable form by hydrogenation of a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC). Haru‐Oni in Chile and Tarfaya in Morocco were chosen as examples of production sites with excellent wind conditions. These are compared with three domestic sites with very good to very moderate wind conditions in the order Dornum (North German coast), Senftenberg (Lausitz) and Ludwigshafen (Rhine Graben).
