Strength properties of soil stabilization with natural fiber (coconut coir).

In this investigation, we have done a soil reinforcement to improve the soil properties by replacing geo grids, geo nets, and geo sheets, with natural fiber coconut coir. Generally, soil reinforcement is done to improve soil properties like strength, bearing capacity, reduce settlements, etc., here replaced coconut coirs in place of geogrids, geonets, because coconut coir is naturally available the use of natural fiber is a proposal to sustain equilibrium in the environment. This study is done by comparing the Engineering properties of soil by adding coir fiber and without fiber to know the improvement in properties of soil. The samples are collected from the construction site in the form of soil exploration method test pits. The laboratory tests LL & PL, specific gravity, OMC content, UCS, CBR tests are conducted on soil to determine the values with and without fiber [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
