Abstract

This article discusses a rare case of rupture of a pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysm after endoscopic sphincterotomy in a patient with median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS). The patient, a 70-year-old woman, underwent the procedure due to acute cholangitis caused by bile duct stones. Although no aneurysm was found before the procedure, a post-procedural CT scan revealed the appearance of a suspected aneurysm, which later ruptured. The article highlights the importance of checking for the presence of MALS before performing endoscopic sphincterotomy and emphasizes the need for diligent post-procedural monitoring.
