Abstract
- This document is a letter published in the journal Blood Purification. The authors describe two additional cases of patients with metformin accumulation who were treated with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA). The patients were successfully treated with diluted citrate during CRRT, and no signs of citrate accumulation were observed. The authors conclude that these findings support the safety of using diluted citrate in patients with metformin accumulation during CRRT, but emphasize the importance of close monitoring for signs of citrate accumulation.
