Abstract
- The behavior of the steel structure of cast ingot during rolling at the radial rolling mill RSP-10/30 was studied. The ingots for rolling were produced by vacuum induction melting from stainless steel 12H13. The ingots were rolled from a single heating in several passes from a diameter of 32 to 26 mm at 1200 °C and from 25 to 13 mm at 800 °C. This enabled, per one operation, to substantially change the sample structure from a coarse-grained cast dendritic structure of 0.5–1.5 mm to an equiaxed fine-grained structure with grain size 1–4 μm in the peripheral part and elongated grains of larger size in the axial part of the rolled billet.
