Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved a resolution on social participation in national health planning and implementation, allowing people, communities, and civil society to have a stronger voice in decisions that affect their health. The resolution aims to address health inequities and the erosion of trust in health systems, particularly in the face of challenges like climate change, conflicts, and pandemics. The WHO will work with member states to implement the resolution by providing guidance, support, and reporting progress. Additionally, the WHO will develop a global strategy for emergency, critical, and operative care, as well as strengthen mental health and psychosocial support in emergency response. The organization also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and emphasized the importance of health as a vital investment in economies.
