Abstract

This article discusses observations of killer whale attacks on sei and fin whales in the Magellanic Sub-Antarctic Waters of Chile. The attacks occurred between March 2020 and April 2021 and resulted in the death of the whales. The researchers were able to identify one female killer whale involved in three of the attacks, which is relatively rare. The study emphasizes the need for further research on the trophic ecology and dietary plasticity of killer whales in the area. Additionally, a collection of articles and studies on killer whale behavior, diet, and interactions with other marine species is provided. [Extracted from the article]
