Abstract

This article explores the concept of "education mothers" in Korean society, specifically their involvement in the private education market and their role in preparing their children for college entrance exams. It discusses how Korean TV dramas depict these mothers and how these portrayals reflect societal expectations. The article also examines the division between public and private spheres of motherhood and the influence of neoliberalism on the role of education mothers. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of recognizing and valuing occupations outside of traditional high-paying professions and promoting a more equitable distribution of educational responsibilities.
