Abstract
- The article discusses the reading process similarities and differences between deaf Arabic children in Israel and typical hearing readers in 2024. Topics covered include their similar processing strategies, but with less effectivity by deaf Arabic children, and the recognition of written words by deaf readers who use sign language for communication. Also noted are the knowledge categories of readers' prior knowledge and cognitive strategies, and their prediction of reading comprehension.
