Abstract

The book "Migration and nationalism: theoretical and empirical perspectives" edited by Michael Samers and Jens Rydregen explores the consequences of nationalism for migrants in the twenty-first century. The editors reject clear distinctions between ethnic nationalism and far-right populism, while also highlighting affinities between nationalism and neoliberalism. The book includes theoretical contributions that support the idea that nationalism and neoliberalism are interconnected, as well as empirical case studies from across Eurasia that provide diverse perspectives on the relationship between nationalism and migration policies. Overall, the book offers valuable insights into the study of new nationalism and migration. [Extracted from the article]
