Abstract

St. Ap. Paul understands in the Epistle to the Colossians that the whole of creation must be seen and conceived as the Body of Christ, which is His Church, understood as an expression of the indissoluble unity between creature and Creator, the constitution of the world thus being ecclesial. What makes such a reality possible is the act of the saving sacrifice. In this regard, in the exposition of St. Ap. Paul we encounter the concept of the body in two senses: τῷ σώματι τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ, in which the whole creation was recapitulated, and ἡ κεφαλὴ τοῦ σώματος τῆς ἐκκκλησίας, in which we are called to walk: “therefore,” states Ap. Paul says - as you have received (παρελάβετε) Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him (ἐν αὐτῷ περιπατεῖτε)”. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
