Abstract
- The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of microecological agents on the production performance, nutrients apparent digestibility, wool production performance, and serum biochemical indexes of Alpine Merino sheep. Ninety Alpine Merino ewes aged 2~3 years and of similar weight were randomly divided into three groups with three replicates in each group and ten ewes in each replicate. The control group, the test group Ⅰ and the test group Ⅱ were added with 0, 1%, and 2% microecological agents in the feed, respectively. The pre-test period was ten days, and the formal test period was 120 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the newborn weight of lambs in the test group Ⅰ and the test group Ⅱ was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the wool yield and wool length of ewes were significantly increased (P<0.05). The apparent digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, and neutral detergent fiber in the test group were significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The contentrations of serum total protein, globulin, and glucose in the test groups were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), while the contentrations of urea nitrogen, cholesterol, and triglyceride were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The rumen pH value, ammonia nitrogen, and butyric acid concentration of ewes in the test group decreased significantly (P<0.05), while the proportion of acetic acid increased significantly (P<0.05). The study indicates that adding microecological agents to the supplemental diet of Alpine Merino sheep can effectively increase the birth weight of lambs, wool yield and wool length of ewes, and improve serum biochemical indexes and rumen fermentation function of ewes.
