Ada Limón, the 24th poet laureate of the United States and the first Latina to hold the position, has developed a project to bring poetry to national parks. She has created an exhibit of picnic tables engraved with poems by various modern writers, which will be placed in seven national parks. The project aims to encourage people to slow down and appreciate nature, as well as to create opportunities for people to stumble upon a poem while in nature.
