Abstract

The physical characteristics, soil structure, vegetation, climatic conditions, and geological structures of the floating islands in Işıklı Lake, Saklıgöl, and Karagöl located within the borders of Denizli province were examined. Additionally, the effects of environmental factors on the chemical and biological properties of these lakes were investigated. According to the research findings, 11 different benthic invertebrate species were identified. While the water quality of Işıklı Lake and Karagöl was evaluated as "Good," Saklıgöl's water quality was measured at a "Moderate" level. Habitats such as mud, algae, moss, and macrophytes stand out in the lake areas. The relationship between temperature and dissolved oxygen levels was examined, revealing that increasing water temperature reduces dissolved oxygen levels. There were variations in ammonium nitrogen content in the examined lakes, indicating the significant impact of agricultural activities, particularly in Işıklı Lake and Saklıgöl. Karagöl's lower ammonium nitrogen content demonstrates the influence of environmental factors. The correlation between lake areas and environmental factors was emphasized, highlighting the impact of wind on the vegetation of floating islands. This study contributes to the understanding and preservation of the ecological and environmental structures of lakes in Denizli. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
