Abstract
- This article discusses the reconstruction of a large scalp defect in a 73-year-old male patient with acantholytic squamous cell carcinoma. The article explores the challenges of reconstructing large scalp defects and the various techniques that can be used, such as skin grafts, flaps, and tissue expansion. The authors describe their chosen technique, the temporoparietal fascial sling island pedicle flap, which allows for full defect coverage, preservation of tissue, and minimal tension. The article provides a detailed surgical technique for this method and highlights its advantages over other techniques. [Extracted from the article]
