Abstract
- The International Society for the History of the Map (ISHMap) recently held its II Workshop and VII Symposium in Berlin, Germany. The workshop provided early career scholars with the opportunity to exchange knowledge with renowned map historians and other members of the international community interested in the study of maps. The symposium brought together scholars from around the world to discuss various topics related to map history, including knowledge circulation, indigenous mapping, and maps in literature. The event also included a visit to the Map Reading Room at the Staatsbibliothek and a trip to the headquarters of Justus Perthes Verlag in Gotha. Two prize winners were announced for the best papers presented at the symposium. The society also elected new trustees and officers and opened calls for nominations for future prizes and hosting opportunities. [Extracted from the article]
