The contribution, starting from a brief reconstruction of Alberto Manzi's professional biography, intends to propose a track of reflection on the idea of the child of the teacher, with particular reference to his experiences with those "marginalised" and "discarded" childhoods such as those he encountered in juvenile prisons in his early years of teaching, or during his travels in Latin America, but also within the very walls of his classrooms. A reflection that will be conducted, between pedagogy and literature, also through the analysis of some significant passages of his novel Orzowei, which offers the reader an extraordinarily powerful portrait of childhood, which in the contribution will be the subject of intercultural reflection.
