Abstract

In 1950 a young Alberto Manzi wrote a very lively text in which he collected his thoughts on the school of the time, entitled "Pensierini sulla scuo-la d'oggi". Into a few sharp sentences, written with the usual irony, it reveals not only a position already very clear and conscious, but also much of the traits that characterize its future pedagogical line. The article aims to analyze this writing, also investigating the context that may have contributed to the definition of Manzi’s ideas of 1950 on the coeval school and stressing in the text the embryonic bases of some of the foundational characteristics of thought and work that characterize the identity of the teacher in subsequent years.
