Abstract
- Covid-19 is an infectious disease that is part of a group of viruses responsible for causing severe acute respiratory syndromes, the Sars-Cov-2. To describe the persistence of symptoms in patients diagnosed with Sars-Cov-2 infection, the term Long-Covid has been used. Respiratory physiotherapy plays an important role in the face of persistent symptoms of Covid-19 in order to restore functionality impaired or lost by the pathology. The objective of the current research is to collect data from medical records and assemble a profile of patients with Long-Covid who sought physical therapy treatment. This is a research analysis of medical records with a diagnosis of Long-Covid who sought the sector to perform treatment between January/2021 and May/2022. A total of 55 medical records were collected and 11 were excluded for not meeting the inclusion criteria, including 20 males with an average age of 57 years and 24 females with an average age of 56 years. The main symptoms found in the research were tiredness, dyspnea and muscle pain. A population profile was found where the greatest demand for physiotherapeutic treatment was female, hypertensive individuals, who use continuous medication, and do not practice physical activities. Even most of the study population underwent hospitalizations, either in the ward or ICU, whose most persistent symptoms were fatigue, dyspnea and muscle pain, with mean blood pressure below expectations, a 6-minute walk test below ideal and average vital signs within the normal range.
