ESPORTE E CINEMA: INTERFACES HISTÓRICAS E POSSIBILIDADES EDUCACIONAIS CONTEMPORÂNEAS.

Considering both cinema and sport as manifestations arising from Modernity, this text proposes to discuss the representation of sport in cinema from the modern context and to open a dialogue in contrast with contemporary pedagogical possibilities. The research is descriptive with a qualitative approach and is organized in two moments. In the first, he uses the sociology of sport and communication as a theoretical framework that guides the critical reading of the film Olympia (1938). The second narrates and discusses a pedagogical experience in high school. The reflections point to feedback from cinema and sport for the affirmation of values cultivated in modernity, such as speed and rationality, but also for the reconstruction of meanings, via student authorship, which is in line with the current educational policy.
