Cluster decay analysis of the Z=102 element identifies N=184 as the shell closure.

Abstract

We used the relativistic mean field model (RMF) with an axially deformed harmonic oscillator basis to calculate the binding energy and other bulk properties of even-even nobelium isotopes (234 < A < 334). The energy produced during the decay (Q-value) for cluster decay and alpha decay is determined using the calculated binding energy. Comparisons have been made between the calculated and experimental values. The half lives of each isotope are then computed using M. Royer's MUDL and UDL-2 for alpha decay and Santhosh's empirical formula for cluster decay. To search for stable isotopes and their reliability in heavy and extremely heavy regions, the findings are shown in graphs. N=184 might indicate the next shell closure and/or neutron magic number, according to the current investigation of the ground state characteristics and decay modes of the "No" element. Our computed results are consistent with the experimental data and more precisely foresee the shell closure. For the projected stable isotope's synthesis, our results may offer a wealth of knowledge.
