The wound microenvironment plays a crucial role in all stages of wound healing and is a key factor for successful wound management. The “moisture balance” theory provides a novel perspective on managing wound moisture. However, further research is required to determine the optimal moisture level required for wound healing. This paper reviewed the benefits of wet wound healing and its impact on effective wound management.
